DTC    P062F    Internal Control Module EEPROM Error

DESCRIPTION

This description and the following Inspection Procedure are for DTC P062F which is stored in the engine stop and start ECU. The engine stop and start ECU has a type of built-in memory called EEPROM. Even if the battery voltage has dropped to 0 V, the memorized data is retained in this memory. This DTC will be stored if the A/C information or the number of starter operations have not been successfully written to the EEPROM. If the engine stop and start ECU is being replaced, be sure to read and record the number of starter operations that is stored in the ECU before removing it. After replacement, enter the number of starter operations and allow the new ECU to learn the A/C information (Click here).

DTC No.
DTC Detection Condition
Trouble Area
P062F
Either condition is met (1 trip detection logic):
  1. The A/C information was not successfully written to the EEPROM.
  2. The number of starter operations was not successfully written to the EEPROM.
Engine stop and start ECU

HINT:
DTCs for the Stop and Start system are not cleared even if the malfunction has been repaired. After repairing the malfunction, be sure to clear the DTCs (Click here) and check the number of starter operations (Click here).

Check if the Stop and Start system operates normally.

HINT:
  1. If the ECM learned values have been cleared by disconnecting the battery or for another reason, Stop and Start system control will be prohibited until ECM learning completes.
  2. Allow the engine to idle for 3 minutes after the engine warms up and check that the engine speed is within 50 rpm of the target idle speed.
  3. If the battery terminal has been disconnected, the ECO OFF indicator will be illuminated. In this case, drive the vehicle for 15 to 40 minutes to turn off the indicator.

  1. Warm up the engine.

  2. Turn the air conditioning system off.

  3. Drive the vehicle at 7 km/h (4.3 mph) or more.

  4. Stop the vehicle. Move the shift lever to neutral and release the clutch pedal.

  5. Check that the engine stops.

  6. Depress the clutch pedal and check that the engine restarts.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (STARTER OPERATION NUMBER)
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  1. Turn the tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Data List / Starter Operation #.

  1. Read and check the number of starter operations displayed by the tester. Then record that number.

  1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

  1. Clear the number of starter operations.

    1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / Starter Exchange.

    2. Following the prompts on the tester display, clear the number of starter operations.

  1. Clear the A/C information.

    1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / Reset A/C Information.

    2. Following the prompts on the tester display, clear the A/C information.

2.PERFORM REGISTRATION (A/C INFORMATION AND STARTER OPERATION NUMBER)
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  1. Turn the tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Utility / ECU Exchange.

  1. Following the prompts on the tester display, register the number of starter operations and allow the engine stop and start ECU to learn the A/C information (Click here).

    NOTICE:
Before clearing the number of starter operations, be sure to record the number since it is necessary to re-register this number in the engine stop and start ECU.

    HINT:
The engine stop and start ECU automatically learns the A/C information via CAN (the learning ends after about 5 seconds).

3.CONFIRM DTC
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  1. Turn the tester on.

  1. Warm up the engine.

  1. Turn the air conditioning system off.

  1. Drive the vehicle at 7 km/h (4.3 mph) or more.

  1. Stop the vehicle. Move the shift lever to neutral and release the clutch pedal.

  1. Check that the engine stops.

  1. Depress the clutch pedal and check that the engine restarts.

  1. Check for DTCs (Click here) and the number of starter operations (Click here).
